How to stress less in a wedding

Weddings are a time for celebration, and we need to enjoy every moment of it. However, these days, weddings can be stressful events that cause undue stress on the bride and groom. You want everything to be perfect on your special day—but how can you ensure this happens?
The best way to avoid unnecessary stress is by finding ways to relieve said stress before it becomes too much! As such, here are 6 simple steps that will help keep your mind at ease during this exciting but sometimes stressful time:

1. Focus on the d-day!
The first step to stress-free planning is to remember that the day will pass by quickly. You will find yourself in the midst of a flurry of activity and then suddenly it's over. The next thing you know, it's time for your first dance.
The best way I've found to stay calm throughout this process is by focusing on the details leading up to my wedding day. This helps me take my mind off what's going on during the event itself, which makes for a much more relaxing experience overall.
2. Book the best vendors
Choose vendors who have a good reputation. If you're looking at the portfolio of a florist, for example, and it's mostly comprised of flower arrangements that look like they were made by elementary schoolers—chances are the designer probably didn't do much research into what makes a gorgeous bouquet and just figured that what worked for her kindergarten class would work for your wedding too. Look for designers who show off their work in magazines or on other weddings sites to see if they're truly talented.
Choose vendors who have a good portfolio. Don't just assume that the photographer with only one or two photos is awful; he might be an amazing photographer with little experience yet! But if he has dozens of poorly shot portraits from poorly executed events? Then stay away from him (and don't forget about photo editing!). This is why we have the best photographers and videographers, cause we are stobburn.
Choose vendors who are reliable. Look up reviews for any company whose name comes across your screen—these can be found on Yelp, Google Reviews, Wedding Wire, Facebook groups dedicated to weddings in your area...etc., etc., etc., etc.—and read them carefully before making any decisions about booking said vendor. Even though these sites aren't perfect (they can often be biased), they still give you some insight into how someone has treated other customers in similar situations as yours
3. Be mindful of what matters: it is your special day, after all
Be mindful of what matters: it is your special day, after all
If you're the bride and groom, there are a hundred things to worry about—but don't let that get to you! It's important not to stress over things that don't matter in the big scheme of things. Your wedding should be an enjoyable event for everyone involved, so try your best not to stress over things like:
What other people think about the weather or food choices (if they do think it's gross)
The flowers (if they're ugly)
Music choices (if they dislike one song or another)
4. Find time to create a photo album for your wedding!
Having a photo album of your wedding helps you keep the memories alive forever. It's a way to relive those special moments over and over again. You can look at it again and again, especially when you're stressed out by life's demands. To create an album, start by asking the photographer for all of his or her digital files from your wedding day. Once you have them, go through each picture and choose only those that capture your favorite moments. Then ask him/her to put them in order for you so that they flow smoothly together when viewing them as an album and not just separate images on a computer screen.
Our Weddings, we provide that service and allow you to be part of creating an amazing album that will last eternity.

5. Plan for the best wedding you can, but keep in mind that the unexpected happens sometimes
If you’ve ever been to a wedding, then you know that things don't always go as planned. From your favorite uncle falling off the stage while dancing to a classic rock band playing slow songs during dinner, there are bound to be some unexpected events that arise.
The best way to avoid stress when planning your big day is by keeping an open mind and being prepared for anything. If there’s one thing I learned during my own wedding planning experience, it's this: the unexpected will happen at some point! Don't let these unexpected moments ruin your special day (or at least try not to). Instead of worrying about what could go wrong or why something didn’t work out, focus on making sure everything else goes smoothly and enjoy yourself!
6. Accept plenty of help from your family and friends!
You're going to have a lot of people wanting you to be happy on your wedding day. Your family and friends want nothing more than for you to feel good and enjoy the day. They'll do everything in their power to make that happen, so don't be afraid to ask them! If they offer help, accept it. Don't feel like you need to do everything yourself—you can't!
You know what else? Having a support system is great for your health in general. It's been shown that people who have strong social relationships are happier, healthier and live longer than those who don't have as many friends or family members in their lives. And while there may be times when this can seem overwhelming (remember: "too much of a good thing"), having others around during stressful events can actually decrease stress levels overall.*
Enjoy and cherish every moment of this special day
Enjoy the moment.
Enjoy the wedding.
Enjoy your partner.
Enjoy the people who are there.
Enjoy the food, music and venue for what they are—a lovely part of your day that you can always look back on with fondness and nostalgia.
Have fun with your friends and family as if this is just another social event in their lives (it's not). They're going through a lot of stress too! And don't forget about enjoying yourself too—weddings were made for two people to share an experience like no other together: one where they relax and have fun while surrounded by those who care about them most!
Being mindful of your wedding day will help you to avoid stress and enjoy the best. If you manage to do that, then the wedding becomes a wonderful memory for years and years ahead!
